I first heard Narramore when the winery was still in Winnsboro. It was Jimmy Buffett night and I was totally impressed with Narramore's knowledge of Buffett's more obscure songs, like "Cowboy in the Jungle" and "God's Own Drunk."
This summer, he opened for the Cruz Brothers' concert on Main Street, where he did a great cover of Townes Van Zandt's "Brand New Companion."
He played for my 40th class reunion last weekend, taking care to keep the set list anchored in the 60s and 70s.
Besides being a great musician, Narramore is a genuinely nice guy. Catch him, beginning at 6:30 p.m. if you have time ... and ask him to do "Brand New Companion." You won't be sorry.
