Just got a copy of Atlanta's (Texas, not Georgia) own native son, Tracy Lawrence's THE ROCK.
My goodness. I knew it was this was his first inspirational CD, but I wasn't expecting it to be so good. I'm on my first pass ... and am impressed.Lawrence is what "real country" should sound like, IMHO, twangy story-telling that moves us. Lawrence said he had always promised his parents he would cut a spiritual CD, but never felt the time was right - until now.
I think "I'M DONE" should be mandatory listening for everyone who points the finger of blame at everyone else ... this one will make you stop and think!
I'm done harboring grudges and nursing old wounds.
Done clinging to grudges and singing the blues.
I'm done pointing fingers at everyone else.
I'm taking a long hard look at myself.
A new day has begun ... and I'm done.
There's power and freedom in that chorus.
Am going to talk to Lawrence later this month ... can't wait to ask him all about this one. I do love my job!
