They're down to the final four on "Dancing with the Stars." Last night, each couple did two dances - one ballroom, one Latin - showing off their best moves, trying to impress both the judges and the voting audience.
Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke were perfection. Their waltz was sweet and romantic. Their salsa was sassy and fun. After a few weeks of "show-generated drama," Marini and Burke are back on top of the leader board. To have denied them any longer would have driven viewers away. If the audience's response was any indication, they will sail into the finals.
Here's their waltz.
And here's their salsa.
I think the final three will be the two girls (jilted bachelorette Melissa Rycroft and Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson) and Gilles. Cowboy Ty Murray has come a long way, but he's probably the one going home tonight. He's sweet and determined, but still has a long way to go.
Even if Marini doesn't take home the coveted, yet tacky, mirrored ball trophy, look for him to be on the big screen. Hope he can act as well as he can dance.
