It takes a lot of courage to try a new path, especially when the one you've been on has provided success and riches beyond your dreams.
But stepping away from the familiar is just what country artist Dierks Bentley has done with the relase of his new CD, "Up On The Ridge."
The CD arrived through my computer this morning. I'm on my second pass. I'm going to join the chorus of critics who are seriously impressed. This is as good as it gets if blazing bluegrass tunes are your cup of tea. It's also a great way to get your feet wet if you're not familiar with the genre but like what you hear when Alison Krauss takes the stage.
Bentley covers Dylan, Kristofferson, Verlon Thompson and is joined by Krauss, Miranda Lamber and Jamey Johnson on a couple of the cuts.
