It is hard to say good bye. After 39 years an American icon turned to rubble with the push of a child’s finger. A child not even old enough to know the historical events that occurred at Texas Stadium before its implosion on Sunday, April 11.
While yes, it is good that money was donated by Kraft to the needy, it still leaves behind a bitter taste.
And to see tears in the eyes of Jerry Jones, next to the dollar signs that is. Please. (insert sarcastic sigh here.) His tears are about as sincere as Tiger Woods’ apology. (Note to self: Retract last statement as that gutless golfer deserves no more free publicity.)
It is hard to even think about Texas Stadium in a pile of dust under the ‘STAR’s last night. Think of all the athletes that got their beginnings on that turf, all the high school players that enjoyed championship victories.
They wouldn’t dare destroy the Astrodome, why is Texas Stadium any different?
